About Me

I started out in farriery 20 years ago and in that time a lot has changed – mostly for the better! To keep up with these changes I regularly attend continuing professional development events and seminars to keep up with the cutting edge of modern farriery techniques. We are also members of the world performance practitioners which is only by invitation of the British Equestrian Federation. We are fortunate that this provides us with the opportunity to attend seminars with many of the best equine practitioners in the UK to see were we can all help to get the maximum performance out of your horse.

I have been lucky enough to of ridden all my life and have competed up to and including advanced 3* eventing. Through this I’ve come to understand what the rider wants from his/her farrier.

Laminitis

Laminitis is one of the worst things that can happen to your horse’s feet and can result in chronic lameness and even death. We have kept up with all the modern ways of treating laminitis and have found that no two cases are the same, so where we may take the shoes off a small pony and correct the angle we will probably fit a set of plastic heartbars to an overweight cob, whatever your horse needs we will be fully versed in how to correctly go about it.

We have a great relationship with all the local vets and will ring them to discuss with them the best way of helping your horse/pony make a full recovery.
